Overview and Session Schedule

God built His Church and continues to renew it through the gift of His Holy Spirit given in the Sacrament of Confirmation. We believe teens who have received that gift and live it out in their lives is a way of God renewing the world! Holy Spirit prepares high school teens over a two year period for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Teens interested in being candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation can begin their formation process by completing one full year of Youth Nights (or 2 semesters).

Confirmation Sessions deepen the relationship with Christ and our Church community that was fostered in Youth Nights. During these sessions, candidates explore the power of the sacrament of Confirmation in and outside of the Church
YEAR TWO candidates will register and participate in Confirmation Sessions held on Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm to 6:00pm during the school year. Confirmation Candidates are required to attend the 5:00PM Mass after the session.

Saint Name Information

As a candidate for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation you have two options concerning the choice of Confirmation name.

Option 1: Choose your present, baptismal name (your first name or middle name only if it is a Saint name). This shows the sacrament’s connection with the other sacraments of initiation into the Catholic Church: Baptism and First Eucharist. Choosing your Baptismal name demonstrates that you feel there has been a continual growth in your faith and that you now wish to make this formal through Confirmation.

Option 2: Choose a Saint’s name that symbolizes a new beginning in your faith life and a connection to that particular Saint. If you feel that you have not been particularly strong in your faith and are now making a renewed commitment to your faith, the taking of a new name symbolizes this commitment.
