Birth to 6 years

Infant Baptism

Congratulations! We are happy to welcome your child into our Catholic Christian faith community as a baptized child of God.

Group Baptisms (maximum of six families) take place on Sundays immediately after the 12:30 pm Mass. Private Baptisms for individual families take place any other day of the week. Please note: Baptisms are not scheduled during the season of Lent (unless due to a medical emergency).

7-15 years of age

Child Baptism

Age 7 and older is considered the age of reason when a child can understand the Sacrament of Baptism and actively participate.  The Baptism process begins the same as for infants, however, children of this age need to be registered in Holy Spirit Faith Formation.  To register for Faith Formation please contact the Faith Formation Office directly at (510) 456-4974 or click the button below for more information.

16+ years of age

Adult Baptism

Adults seeking baptism and the other Sacraments of Initiation are introduced into the Roman Catholic faith through the Rite of Christian Intitiation of Adults (RCIA).  Programs run from fall through spring meeting weekly and culminate with reception into the Church during the Easter Vigil Celebration.  Please contact Dcn.
