Our parish history is rich with Portuguese & Catholic heritage. Part of that beautiful heritage is expressed in our Holy Spirit Festival or Festa!
Our 131st Festival celebration begins on April 22, 2017 with the Presentation Ball in our Parish Center. This gala affair is an elegant dinner and dance where the Parish Center is transformed with extravagant decorations. The theme for the 2017 Presentation Ball is "That's Amore" The Festival Queen and the Honor & Senior Court young ladies are presented to the parish community during the evening.
On Festival Sunday, May 21, 2017 the Festival activities take place in St Francis Plaza. A variety of food booths, game booths for young and old, and on-stage entertainment invite parishioners to come enjoy the celebration outdoors: participate in games, enjoy the food, meet old friends and relax to a variety of stage performances.
The Coronation Mass at 12:30 p.m. is the high point of the Festival celebration, where our pastor, Fr. Mathew, places the royal scepter in the hands of the Festival Queen and places the silver crown over her head in a ceremonial coronation. Following the tradition of the past, the Queen will hand out small loaves of bread to the assembly.
